Supernova
Supernova was a long time in the making. A lot's happened since I started the build just shy of 11 months ago, and finally getting it finished feels like a significant achievement. The idea was to create an offset-bodied Novo-inspired instrument with a blend of features taken from some of my existing guitars while stepping up quality and attempting some things I haven't done before: bound fingerboard, lightly relic'd thin nitro finish, and LP-style Tune-o-matic bridge. I'm super happy with the results.
The thin and intentionally worn nitro/metalflake finish nicely highlights the natural grain of the ash body, and combined with the oiled walnut neck provides an extremely tactile experience.
